How to repair the Macbook A1181 DVD if it can't be played, can't be seen, or doesn't rotate
If the CD or DVD does not load or does not recognize it, you may need to replace the drive.

The orange connector on the right side of the image connects the drive to the logic board, but you can remove it by lifting it from the bottom to the top.
